When drawing these cards, my question is always “what concept should I meditate on today?” Today’s draw hits close to me, because it’s essentially about meditating on a difficult decision.

There’s lots to take in here. The robed woman is safe, behind her is deep, still looking water, and she balances two swords as she sits, blindfolded.

The intentionality of the blindfold can change the meaning of the card. If placed intentionally, she is weighing something, eliminating her vision to rely on other senses to show her the way. If placed intentionally it could also be a denial of information that is in plain view. . The blindfold could also indicate that there is information that is yet to be revealed or seen — this card invites us to look further, to seek more.

So much of the imagery of this card indicates that the answer that is needed can only be found within. The old, intuitive moon hangs over her shoulder. The still water has large rocks jutting out from it indicating that the still surface obscures jagged rocks below.

Her arms holding the swords are crossed — the decision is one of importance and holds the woman separate from forward progress. The swords point off card, to nothing we are able to see. This decision point is an impasse, and must be made in order to move forward.
