Does Dry Herb Vaporizing Bother Your Throat? Try Adding Water!

Maybe Not the Way You Think!

Does Dry Herb Vaporizing Bother Your Throat? Try Adding Water!

It’s no secret that dry herb vaporizing is my favorite way to consume cannabis these days. But, admittedly, back in the day, I did like a good water-cooled and filtered hit out of a bong. I thought of that when trying to work through one of the challenging things for my husband with dry herb vaporizing: how the hot, dry vapor hits his throat. That’s when I realized I should explore some of the options that vaporizers have for working with water.

Bubblers

At first, we experimented with bubblers and purchased one for both the Mighty and the Arizer (the Arizer bubbler works on both the Air Max and The Solo II). I appreciated how they cooled the vapor.

In fact, I liked the bubbler so much I my biggest real problem was that I wanted more of that experience.

The only real drawback for me was that bubblers can make an already unwieldy piece even more unwieldy. It certainly wasn’t an ‘on-the-go’ solution.

The trade off is delicious, cool vapor. A bubbler might be a good introduction into using water to cool your vapor. It can be more economical than investing in both a water pipe and a Water Pipe Adapter.

Water Pipe Adapters

I recently wrote about the Arizer Air Max in my Guide to Finding a Dry Herb Vaporizer You’ll Love, (I plan to write about it more in-depth soon). One of the great things about that vaporizer is that it comes with a Water Pipe Adapter.

Who doesn’t love a well-accessorized vaporizer?

The way water pipe adapters work is they change the shape of the mouthpiece so that they can fit snugly inside of a water pipe. This allows you to pull the vapor through into the water pipe’s chamber where it’s cooled by water.

Since I had a water pipe out it got me thinking — what other water pipe accessories are there out there? Could Darren possibly use the Mighty +, his personal favorite vaporizer, with one?

Yes. The answer is yes, of course — all you need to do is look up your vaporizer and you’ll find a large range of options for a WPA.

I was curious about one that would transcend a single device, and was curious about how well it would work.

Enter this WPA from Sneaky Pete’s Vaporizers. It’s actually a two piece (there’s an inner piece). It will work with ‘pretty much anything with a round mouthpiece) but it also works with the Mighty’s strangely shaped mouthpiece.

If you’ve always wanted to like vaporizing cannabis, but couldn’t get past the dry tickle in your throat, it might be worth it to try a water pipe adapter or bubbler!
