Pure THC is a great teacher.

How Smoking Pure THC Improved my understanding of cannabis

It was inevitable that, upon seeing a product that was nearly pure THC, that I’d buy it. It immediately gained the nickname of ‘fairy dust’ in my house and we liberally sprinkled it on bowls, on top of flower in dry herb vapes, and with dabs — but I learned the most about what pure THC is like from using a nectar collector on it. And I got ridiculously high.

There was something very simple about the high from pure THC. Light, heady, and smiley, with a bit of a body buzz. But nothing TOO much in any one direction. Just an overall uplift. An incredibly intense, smiley uplift.

Once I smoked pure THC, it became very clear how cannabinoids and terpenes come into play to help cannabis give all of the effects I so love.

Smoking pure THC helped me realize which terpenes I enjoyed the most and why, and how both they and some of the other cannabinoids came into play for the overall feeling. It helped me understand what I was seeking from cannabis so I could make more informed decision about the products I wanted to buy. It was also interesting to mix the THC crystals with terp sauce and other concentrates to see how it enhanced and titrated with the other cannabinoids and terpenes.

I never would have attempted to purchase anything like this extract in a state that did not have controlled dispensary systems. While I know that there are lot of issues in Oregon right now with mold and other quality issues, it is still very meaningful to me to be able to see the testing results on all of the products that I buy. Additionally, I know the work of Select as a brand and trust their extracts and their process. I am grateful that all of these support systems are in place to increase access to products like pure THC crystals. Please take all precautions you can to ensure that whatever you ingest in your body — cannabis, food, water, whatever — is safe.

The experience was very helpful to me as a cannabis patient and cannabis guide. I hope that more places like Lowell Cafe will be able to open so that more people can have the experience of pure THC without having to shell out so much money to do so (not only do you have to buy the concentrate, but also some sort of rig to consume it with, and even simple nectar collectors can be an expense). Having access and ability to experience these products helps teach us how all of the chemicals within cannabis work in concert, and is an important tool for those looking to expand their personal journey with cannabis.

PS did I mention, I got super fucking high.
